Lo pinhèr, (Pinus pinea) es una espècia de pin dins la familha Pinaceae caracteristic per sas granas comestiblas: los pinhons, e mai que de pinhons d'autres espècias europèas de pin se pòscan manjar, son fòrça mai pichons (i a d'espècias americanas de pinhons gròsses que son esplechadas comercialament).
Es originari de la region mediterranèa.
Descripcion
Arbre de 30 mètres de naut, amb la rusca d'un marron rogenc e fòrça espessa. Es en forma de parasolelh. Amb d'agulhas de 20 cm de long, apariadas coma pels autres de pins autoctòns. Florís de març a mai en produsent de pinhas ovoïdas de 15x10cm amb de pinhons de 15 a 20 mm. Las pinhas maduran a l'auton del tresen an (los autres pins lo fan en dos ans).
Creis dins las garrigas, èrms e dunas fixadas. Fa venir los terrenhs silicicèus, subretot sablonencs generalament prèp del litoral.
Usatges
Fòrça utilizat per l'ornament. Los pinhons demandan fòrça man d'òbra, cal escalfar las pinhas per que se duèrban. La fusta a pas gaire d'interès.
Un autre pin amb de pinhons comestibles es lo Pinus edulis, originari de las montanhas del sud oèst dels Estats Units d'America.
