Los onicofòrs (Onychophora) son d'animals terrèstres de 1 a 15 cm de long, segmentats, portant un parelh d'apendices — apelats lobopòdis — pas articulats sus cada segment. Pòdon comptar de 15 a mai de 40 segments.
Lo nom d'onicofòr proven del grèc "oνυχοϛ" (ongle) e "Φορειν" (portar) vòl dire literalament "que pòrta d'onglas" en referéncia a las àrpias que possedisson los lobopòdis.
