Localisacion

Lo njem es parlat dins lo departament del Naut-Nyong, dins la Region de l'Èst al Cameron, e de l'autre costat de la frontièra al Còngo[1].

Classificacion

Per Nurse e Philippson (2003), lo njem fa partida d'un grop maka-njem amb lo mvumbo, lo so, lo makaa, lo byep, lo kol, lo bajue, lo konabem, lo bekwel e lo mezime, lo mpompon, lo mpiemo, lo bomwali, lo gyele, l'ukhwejo[2].
