Legum
Un legum, var. legume, lieume, ortalha, ortalissa es al sens estricte la part comestible d'una ortalha. Dins son sens culinari, lo mot legum designa tota partida comestibla d'un vivent non animal siá vegetal, campairòl, o protista (qualques algas), que siá pas sucrada al gost. S'inclutz tanben jos aqueste nom las plantas que nos provesisson los condiments e las èrbas finas. Per oposicion, las partidas comestiblas de gost mai doç son dins lo sens culinari de fruches.
En botanica, legum designa la teca, fruch especific de las leguminosas.
