Juli Cesar Scaliger (o Giulio Cesare della Scala) (23 d'abril de 1484 – 21 d'octobre de 1558) foguèt un saberut italian a l'encòp escrivan, filosòf e mètge que passèt la màger par de sa carrièra en Occitània. Usèt de las tecnicas e descobèrtas de l'Umanisme de la Renaissença per defendre l'Aristotelianisme contre aqueste darrièr. Malgrat son caractèr arrogant e cerca bregas, sa reputacion entre sos contemporanèus èra nauta, amor que foguèt jutjat subre sas coneissenças e sos talents, e segon Jacques August de Thou, cap dels ancians podián lo subrepassar, e son epòca aviá pas d'egal.
