Hugh Ruttledge en 1936.

Hugh Ruttledge (24 d'octòbre de 1884 - 7 de novembre de 1961 es un alpinista britanic. Oficier de l'administracion coloniala en Índia, s'interessèt ai montanhas d'Imalaia a partir de 1925. Dirigiguèt doas expedicions destinadas a realizar l'ascension dau Mont Everest en 1933 e en 1936. La premiera agantèt 8 570 m d'altitud e descurbiguèt un piolet apartenent a Andrew Irvine, alpinista britanic disparegut en 1924. La segonda agantèt solament 7 000 m e foguèt annulada en causa de condicions meteorologicas fòrça marridas.
