Classificacion

Lo hmwaveke es un dels dialèctes de la region de Voh-Koné, amb l'haveke, lo waamwang, l'haeke, lo vamale e lo hmwaeke, e lo bwatoo[1].

Es una lenga caledoniana, un grop de las lengas oceanianas del sud restacat a las lengas oceanianas. Aquestas fan partida de la branca malaiopolinesiana de la familha austronesiana[2].
