Harappa

Site de Harappa.

Harappa es un site arqueologic situat en Panjab, aperaquí 20 km a l'oèst de Sahiwal. Implantat a proximitat d'un corrent d'aiga assecat, foguèt una vila majora de la civilizacion de la vau d'Indus. Ocupada a partir de 3300 avC, ocupava a son apogèu una superificia de 150 ectaras e aviá una populacion estimada a 40 000 abitants. Après un periòde de crisi durant lo sègle XIX avC, foguèt un centre de la cultura dau cementèri H, una cultura regionala eissida de la fragmentacion de la civilizacion de la vau d'Indus. La vila foguèt abandonada vèrs 1300 avC.
