Goethita

Goethita (Cornoalha).

La goethita es un minerau gris negre, roge brun ò jaune viu. Sa duretat se situa entre 5 e 5,5 e sa densitat entre 3,3 e 4,3. Es constituïda d'idroxid de fèrre (FeO(OH)) que pòu cristallizar segon un sistèma rombic de basa oloedrica. Pasmens, la forma cristallizada es fòrça rara e la goethita forma generalament de massas estalactiticas. Son esclat es submetallic.

Dins la natura, la goethita se tròba generalament dins de zònas d'alteracion de jaciments de fèrre. En particular, es un constituent important dei jaciments limonitics. Es sovent associat amb la manganita, l'ematita, la calcita e lo qüars. Es utilizada coma minerau per la produccion de fèrre[1] e, pus rarament, coma colorant jaune. Son nom li foguèt donat en l'onor dau filosòf Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832).
