Biografia

Nasquèt lo 14 de setembre de 1936 a vila de Whiting, situada dins la estat nòrd-american de Indiana. Filh d'un immigrant albanés estudièt medecina a l'Universitat dePauw, ont se graduèt lo 1958 e lo 1965 se doctorèt a la Case Western Reserve University de Cleveland. Lo 1970 foguèt nomenat professor de l'Universitat de Virgínia e lo 1981 de Stanford.
