L’establishment es un tèrme utilizat mai sovent dins un sens pejoratiu, que designa una minoritat sociala exercissent un fòrt contraròtle sus l'ensems de la societat, en foncionant sus la basa de poders establits.

Definicion

S'agís de decideires economics, politics, culturals, etc., que pilotan (o se considèra que pilotan) ensems, per lor benefici e segon lors vejaires, las organizacions publicas e privadas màger d'un païs. Daissan pauc de poders de contraròtle als electors, consomators, accionaris, eca.

Origina

L'expression the establishment foguèt emplegada pel primièr còp e dins aquel sens al sègle XIX als Estats Units d'America, per l'essagista american Ralph Waldo Emerson[1]. Lo jornalista britanic Henry Fairlie tornèt l'utilizar en 1955, dins la revista londoniana The Spectator. L'expression foguèt enseguida utilizada e popularizada per l'ensems de la premsa londoniana[2].

Traduccion

Los equivalents del tèrme se donan per una perifrasa coma « lo poder establit », la « classa dirigenta », « la casta dirigenta », « las gents en plaça », eca., o per un tèrme unic coma « los eleits », « lo sistèma ».
