Un director de cinèma o realizator (en anglés: film director) es generalament considerat, coma lo creator d'una òbra cinematografica. Lo trabalh de director de cinèma fa servir totes las ressorças umanas, tecnicas, e artisticas, qu'inclutz:
- Definir l'orientacion artistica generala
- Analizar e interpretar lo programa del film (storyboard)
- La direccion de las interpretacions dels actors tant del punt de vista tecnic coma dramatic
- L'organizacion e seleccion dels escenaris
- Direccion dels mejans tecnics (lum, encadrament, etc.)
- Causida de l'equipa tecnica e dels actors
- Supervision dels preparatius de produccion
- Causida dels luòcs de rodatge, escenografia e equipaments
- Direcccion e supervision del montatges, banda sonòra
