Cotentin
Cotentin es una peninsula francesa situada dins la partida nòrd-occidentala de Normandia e recobrissent la màger part de l'ancian Pagus Constantiensis de las epòcas romana e medievala. Aquela region naturala ten son nom de la vila de Coutances, çò qu'explica l'anciana grafia Costentin tala que la poguèt emplegar Wace dins son roman de Rou[1]. Element del Massís armorican, Cotentin s'estend de l’estuari de Vire duscas la boca de Thar al sud de Granville. Al sud se tròba Avranchin e a l'èst Bessin.
