Lo chovash es una lenga turquesa parlada en Russia.
Localisacion
Lo chovash es lenga oficiala de la republica de Chovàshia, en Russia. De minoritats parlan la lenga dins los oblastes russes de Samara, Orenborg, Ulianovsk e tamben en Tatarstan e Bashcortostan[1].
Classificacion
Lo chovash fa partida de las lengas oghor, una branca de las lengas turquesas, que n'en es l'unic representant modèrn. L'istòria e l'origina del chovash son discutidas, mas la tèsa la mai acceptada es qu'es lo descendent de la lenga del pòble bulgar ancian, qu'èra un pòble turqués oghor. Aquela lenga qu'es lèu desapareguda dins los Balcans, s'es mantenguda dins la region de Vòlga[2].
Escritura
Lo chovash es escrit dempuèi la segonda meitat del sègle XVIII[2].
