Localizacion
Lo palauan es parlat dins l'illa de Guam e tamben dins aquelas de Saipan e Rota, dins las Illas Mariannas del Nòrd.
Classificacion
Lo chamorro es dins lo vesinatge de las lengas micronesianas, que son de las lengas oceanianas. Pasmens aparten pas a aquel grop. Fa partida de la branca malaiopolinesiana occidentala de la familha austronesiana. Es pas directament aparentat a d'autras lengas e constituís un grop dins l'ensem malaiopolinesian occidental. Una autra lenga, lo palauan, parlada a Palau es dins la situacion meteissa[1].
