La batalha de Chaldiran se debanèt lo 23 d'aost de 1514 entre l'Empèri Otoman e l'Empèri Safavida en formacion. S'acabèt per una victòria de l'Empèri Otoman que son armada aviá un equipament superior e èra en superioritat numerica. Pasmens, la tactica de tèrra cremada adoptada per l'armada safavida durant sa retirada empachèt la conquista otomana dau plan iranian.
