Astrochelys yniphora, es una espècia de tartuga terrèstra de la familha dels Testudinidae endemica de Madagascar.
S'encontra dins un pichon territòri d'aperaquí 25 a 60 km2 dins la region de Baly Baly e la vila de Soalala.
Astrochelys yniphora foguèt estudiada e descrita pel primièr còp pel zoologista francés Léon Vaillant en 1885. En 2012, i aviá pas que 440 a 700 individús a l'estat salvatge. Menacada pels fuòcs de brossas d'origina umana que visan a crear de zonas de pastura per lo zebu e la collècta d'individús per le trafèc internacional d'animals de companhiá, l'espècia es considerada coma « en perilh critic d'extinccion » (CR) per l'Union internacionala per la conservacion de la natura que l'a tanben inscrita sus la lista de las 100 espècias pus menacadas al monde en setembre de 2012.
