Asia (var. Àsia)[1][2] es lo continent pus grand e pus poblat del mond. Ocupa 8,6% de la superfícia totala de la Tèrra (o 29,4% de las tèrras) e, amb aperaquí 4 miliards de personas, conten mai de 60% de la populacion mondiala actuala.

Mai que mai situada dins los emisfèris nòrd e èst, Asia es tradicionalament definida coma una partida d'Eurasia –amb l'extrèm oèst confrontat per Euròpa –mai a l'èst per lo canal de Suèz, los monts Orals, e al sud per las montanhas de Caucàs, la mar Caspiana e la mar Negra. Es bordada a l'èst per l'ocean Pacific, al sud per l'ocean Indian, e al nòrd per l'ocean Artic.

De per sa talha e diversitat, Asia –un toponim datat de l'Antiquitat– es mai un concèpte cultural incorporant un grand nombre de regions e pòbles qu'una entitat fisica omogenèa.[3][4]
