Alexàndria d'Egipte (en grèc ancian, Ἀλεξάνδρεια = Alexándreia; en còpte Ⲣⲁⲕⲟⲧⲉ Rakotə, en arabi الإسكندرية Al Iskandariyya o localament اسكندريه Eskendereyya), mai simplament Alexàndria, es la segonda vila d'Egipte per sa populacion e es son primier pòrt de mar. Ten entre 3,5 e 5 milions d'abitants.

Alexàndria s'espandís subre 32 km, lòng de la còsta de la mar Mediterranèa, au centre-nòrd d'Egipte. Es lo sèti de l'antica bibliotèca d'Alexàndria e de la nòva bibliotèca d'Alexàndria. Es un centre industriau important gràcias a seis oleoductes de gas naturau e de petròli venent de Suèz.
A passat temps, Alexàndria foguèt una dei vilas pus celèbras dau Mond. Lo rei macedonian Alexandre lo Grand la fondèt en 331 avC e restèt la capitala d'Egipte per quasi mila ans, fins en 641 apC quand leis arabis conquistèron Egipte e i fondèron una capitala nòva a Fustat (absorbit puei per Lo Caire). Alexàndria èra coneguda per lo far d'Alexàndria (una dei Sèt Meravilhas dau Mond, dins la Mediterranèa antica), la bibliotèca d'Alexàndria (la pus granda de l'Edat Antica mediterranèa) e lei Catacombas de Kom el Shoqafa (una dei Sèt Meravilhas dei l'Edat Mejana). L'arqueologia maritima qu'òbra ara dins lo pòrt d'Alexàndria (dempuei 1994) es a revelar de detalhs d'Alexàndria tant d'avans Alexandre, quand la vila de Rhakotis existissiá aquí, coma de la dinastia dei Ptolemèus après Alexandre.
