En informatica, l'arquitectura 16 bits es un tipe d'estructura d'ordinator esplechant de mots (processor, memòria, bus, etc) d'una talha de 16 bits (siá dos octets).
Un mot de 16 bits pòt estocar 216 valors diferentas, siá 65536 valors. Un processor 16 bits pòt donc adreçar dirèctament 65 Ko de memòria.
