Ulmus^[1] ialah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam famili Ulmaceae merangkumi beberapa pokok meluruh di bawah nama dardar (Arab: دَردَار‎, rumi: dardār)^[1] atau nama Inggeris elm. Genus mula muncul pada zaman Miosen di tengah benua Asia sekitar 20 juta tahun dahulu.^[2]

Pokok-pokok genus ini bertaburan asal di hampir serata Hemisfera Barat termasuk kawasan beriklim sederhana Amerika Utara dan Eurasia sampai sejauh kawasan khatulistiwa. Spesis Pokok Pengki adalah spesis terdapat di iklim khaulistiwa.

Dardar/elm boleh tumbuh tinggi dan sering digunakan sebagai tanaman hiasan. Namun, elm mudah terkena serangan hama, terutama dari cendawan Ophiostoma, yang disebarkan oleh kumbang. Genus ini adalah tumbuhan berbunga dwijantina^[1] sempurna yang berdebunga dapat ditiup angin.^[3] Dedaunnya gerigi dwitepi, bebijinya berkepak mudah diterbangkan angin.^[1] Ia dapat menahan beraneka tahap keasidan tanah yang luas tetapi memerlukan saliran yang baik.
