Terpena
Terpena (/ˈtɜːrpiːn/) ialah kelas produk semula jadi terdiri daripada sebatian dengan formula (C 5 H 8) n. Terdiri daripada lebih daripada 30,000 sebatian, hidrokarbon tak tepu ini dihasilkan terutamanya oleh tumbuhan, terutamanya tumbuhan konifer.[1][2] Terpenes dikelaskan lagi mengikut bilangan karbon: monoterpenes (C 10 ), sesquiterpenes (C 15), diterpenes (C 20), dll. Monoterpene yang terkenal ialah alpha-pinene, komponen utama turpentin.
