Ternate
Ternate ialah sebuah pulau dan pekan yang terletak di kepulauan Maluku, timur Indonesia. Ternate pernah suatu masa dahulu mendominasi perdagangan rempah-ratus yang datang dari pulau itu sendiri.
Pulau
Ternate dipenuhi dengan gunung berapi Gamalama (1715 m). Letusan gunung berapi sering berlaku dan debunya menutupi keseluruhan pulau itu. Letusan terbaru adalah pada September 1980 bilamana 30,000[penjelasan diperlukan] terpaksa dikosongkan dan 56,000 orang penduduk terpaksa dipindahkan ke Tidore.
