Termofil

Termofil ialah peranti elektronik yang mengubah tenaga haba menjadi tenaga elektrik. Peranti ini biasanya terdiri dari termokopel yang disambungkan deret[1], atau kurang kerap pada sendi selari. Termofil tidak mengukur suhu mutlak, tetapi menghasilkan voltan keluaran yang sebanding dengan perbezaan kecerunan suhu antara kedua-dua termokopel. Thermophiles adalah komponen utama termometer inframerah yang sering digunakan oleh profesional perubatan untuk mengukur suhu badan melalui telinga. Peranti ini juga digunakan dalam sensor fluks haba (seperti pada termofil Moll dan pirheliometer Eppley)[2][3][4] pengendali keamanan dan pembakar gas. Keluaran dari termofil biasanya pada cakupan puluhan atau ratusan milivolt.[5][6]
