Slagelse, adalah sebuah bandar di timur Denmark, pada Perbandaran Slagelse yang terletak di pulau Zealand.
Sejarah
Slagelse telah didiami sekurang-kurangnya sejak Zaman Viking, di mana ia merupakan tapak Pagan. Trelleborg, sebuah istana cincin, dibina berhampiran lokasi semasa Slagelse pada tahun 980, yang menjadikan lokasi itu penting secara strategik. Sebuah gereja telah dibina di lokasi semasa Slagelse pada tahun 1000-an. Sekitar masa ini, syiling telah dicetak di Slagelse.[1]
Antvorskov dibina pada tahun 1100-an oleh Valdemar I, yang baru-baru ini memperoleh Zealand. Baginda membina biara itu dalam usaha untuk mendapatkan kawalan dan sokongan penduduk tempatan. Biara itu digunakan oleh Knights Hospitaller.[2]
