Slack ialah platform komunikasi perniagaan hak milik yang dibangunkan oleh Slack Technologies.

Sejarah

Slack bermula sebagai alat dalaman untuk syarikat Stewart Butterfield, Tiny Speck semasa pembangunan Glitch, permainan dalam talian.[7][8] Slack dilancarkan pada bulan Ogos 2013.[9]

Pada bulan Mac 2015, Slack mengumumkan bahawa ia telah digodam selama empat hari pada Februari 2015, dan bahawa beberapa data pengguna telah dikompromikan. Data tersebut termasuk alamat e-mel, nama pengguna, kata kunci yang dicirikan, dan dalam beberapa kes, nombor telefon dan ID Skype telah dikaitkan dengan akaun mereka. Slack menambahkan pengesahan dua faktor ke perkhidmatan mereka sebagai tindak balas terhadap serangan tersebut.[10]

Slack sebelum ini serasi dengan protokol pemesejan Internet Relay Chat (IRC) dan XMPP bukan hak milik, tetapi syarikat itu menutup pintu masuk yang sesuai pada Mei 2018.[11]

"Slack" ialah akronim untuk "Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge."[12][13]

Slack disenaraikan awam tanpa IPO pada 26 April 2019 dan menyaksikan sahamnya melonjak ke penilaian $ 21 bilion.[14]
