Setchellanthus caeruleus ialah spesies pokok renek berbau kuat dengan bunga biru besar. Ia ditempatkan bersendirian dalam genus Setchellanthus, yang pada gilirannya, ditempatkan bersendirian dalam keluarga Setchellanthaceae. Ia endemik di Mexico.[1]

Genus dan spesies ini telah dikelaskan oleh Townshend Stith Brandegee dalam Univ. Calif. Publ. Bot. vol.3 pada halaman 378 pada tahun 1909.[1]

Nama genus Setchellanthus adalah untuk menghormati William Albert Setchell (1864–1943), yang merupakan ahli botani dan fikologi marin Amerika yang mengajar di University of California, Berkeley, di mana beliau mengetuai Jabatan Botani.[2] Epitet spesifik caeruleus adalah perkataan Latin untuk "biru".[3]
