Saksofon

Saksofon [sak-so-fon, Perancis: saxophone] adalah sejenis alat muzik tiupan jenis bras yang biasanya diperbuat daripada logam tembaga, bentuknya seperti kon yang bengkok berbentuk huruf "J" dan terdapat kekunci untuk bermain dengan jari-jari, sementara bahagian hujungnya terdapat tempat untuk meniup. Terdapat alat rid di bahagian tempat tiupan tersebut. Saksofon pada asalnya digunakan dalam orkestra dan pancaragam tentera, tetapi kini lebih dikenali sebagai alat muzik dalam muzik popular, big band dan jazz.

Ia dicipta oleh Adolphe Sax, seorang pemuzik dari Belgium pada tahun 1846.
