Ravenala ialah genus tumbuhan monokotiledon dalam keluarga Zingiberaceae.[1]

Taksonomi

Nama genus Ravenala diserap daripada perkataan ravinala dalam bahasa Malagasi;[2] ia menggabungkan kata-kata ravina yang seasal perkataan "daun" daripada kata akar *dahun dalam bahasa Proto-Austronesia[3] dan ala yang seasal perkataan alas bermaksud "hutan" diturunkan daripada kata akar *Salas.[4][5]:II
