Pycnopygius ialah genus burung dalam keluarga Meliphagidae, iaitu burung isap madu.

Ditubuhkan oleh Tommaso Salvadori pada 1880, ia mengandungi spesies-spesies berikut:[2]

Nama Pycnopygius adalah gabungan perkataan Yunani puknos, bermaksud "tebal" atau "padat" dan -pugios, bermaksud "bertongkeng" (daripada pugẽ: "tongkeng").[3]
