Pesakit


Seorang pesakit ialah mana-mana penerima perkhidmatan penjagaan kesihatan yang dijalankan oleh pakar penjagaan kesihatan. Pesakit selalunya sakit atau tercedera dan memerlukan rawatan oleh seorang pakar perubatan, jururawat, ahli psikologi, doktor gigi, doktor haiwan, atau pihak pelaksanaan penjagaan kesihatan yang lain.

Etimologi

Perkataan pesakit ialah kata terbitan daripada pengimbuhan kata kerja 'sakit' dengan imbuhan awalan 'pe-'.
