Parang puting merujuk kepada parang yang tidak dipasangkan hulunya.[1]

Hikayat Parang Puting

Terdapat sebuah manuskrip Melayu berjudul Hikayat Parang Puting. Dalam hikayat tersebut, Awang sebagai watak utama hikayat telah dilantik menjadi raja dan dapat mengahwini puteri raja selepas mengalahkan naga dengan menggunakan parang puting milik nenek kebayan yang ditukarkan dengan cincin milik Awang.[2]
