Palatin

Palatin (palatine) merupakan pegawai tinggi diraja yang ditempatkan dalam pemerintahan raja-raja atau maharaja serata Eropah sejak zaman Empayar Rom. [1]

Gelaran "palatin" ini datang daripada akar bahasa Latin palatinus; gelaran para penggawa yang bersidang di bukit Mons Palatinus pada ketika itu.[2] The imperial palace guard, after the rise of Constantine I, were also called the Scholae Palatinae for the same reason.
