Keruing runcing (Dipterocarpus cuspidatus) ialah sejenis pokok dalam keluarga Dipterocarpaceae.

Huraian

Dipterocarpus cuspidatus tumbuh menjadi pokok bersaiz sedang setinggi 50 meter (160 ka), dengan garis pusat batang mencapai 1.2 meter (4 ka). Kulitnya perang karat. Buahnya membulat sepanjang 2 cm (1 in).[3]

Taburan dan habitat

Dipterocarpus cuspidatus endemik dari Borneo, di mana ia dicatatkan hanya dari tiga tempat di Sarawak. Habitatnya adalah hutan dipterokarpa campur di perbukitan rendah mencapai ketinggian 300 meter (1,000 ka).[1]

Pemuliharaan

Dipterocarpus cuspidatus telah dianggap sebagai terancam genting dalam Senarai Merah IUCN. Species ini terancam oleh pembalakan kayu balak dan penukaran tanah untuk perladangan kelapa sawit.[1]
