Kabel
Kabel terdiri daripada seberkas wayar atau tali yang diikat, dililitkan dan dijalin bersebelahan menjadi satu himpunan. Dalam bidang mekanik, kabel digunakan untuk mengangkut dan menarik objek; dalam bidang elektrik pula kegunaannya adalah menyalurkan arus elektrik.
Kabel optik mengandungi satu atau lebih gentian optik dalam salut pelindung yang menyokong gentian tersebut. Kabel mekanik sewajarnya dipanggil tali dawai.
