Dalam sains komputer dan pengaturcaraan komputer, jenis data atau lebih ringkas, jenis (bahasa Inggerisnya type atau data type) ialah pengelasan bagi mengenalpasti jenis sesuatu data, seperti nilai sebenar, integer atau Boolean, yang menentukan nilai-nilai yang mungkin bagi jenis berkenaan; operasi yang boleh dilakukan keatasnya; maksud data itu; dan cara data itu boleh disimpan.[1][2]
