Idea

Dalam erti yang paling sempit, idea adalah apa pun hasil pemikiran seseorang ketika dia berfikir. Sering kali, idea ditafsirkan sebagai gambar perwakilan, yakni gambar suatu objek. Dalam konteks lain, idea boleh dianggap sebagai konsep, walaupun konsep abstrak tidak semestinya muncul sebagai gambar.[1] Ramai ahli falsafah mempertimbangkan idea sebagai kategori makhluk ontologi yang asas.

Kemampuan untuk mencipta dan memahami makna idea dianggap sebagai ciri dan nilai penting dan manusia.

Dalam erti popular, suatu idea muncul dalam cara spontan dan tiba-tiba, bahkan tanpa berfikir atau renungan yang serius, misalnya, ketika sedang berbicara mengenai idea seseorang atau suatu tempat.
