Gig

Gig ialah sebuah istilah kebiasaannya digunakan bagi merujuk kepada persembahan langsung mereka.

Kamus Grove Muzik dan Pemuzik menerangkan makna istilah ini ialahdescribes the term as meaning "Istilah yang umumnya digunakan untuk penglibatan muzikal semalaman; untuk menjalankan penglibatan sedemikian."[1] Penggunaan berdokumen pertama istilah ini ialah pada 1926: :1926 Melody Maker 7 Sep. One popular ‘gig’ band makes use of a nicely printed booklet.[2]

Menurut Richard Digance di rancangan Countdown UK TV Channel 4, definisi in diambil daripada pedati gerabak di New Orleans, Louisiana dikenali sebagai 'gig', di mana pemuzik hitam boleh membuat persembahan dan tidak diberkas kerana bermain di jalanan.
