Geophaps adalah satu genus kecil dalam keluarga Columbidae. Genus ini diperkenalkan oleh George Robert Gray ini terdiri dari 3 spesies.[1] Spesies ke-4 dikenali sebagai merbuk jambul diletakkan dalam genus Geophaps dalam beberapa kertas kerja.[2] Warna bulu dan taburan spesies Geophaps mencadangkan kesemua spesies dalam genus terbentuk dari moyang yang sama dan melalui adaptive radiation mereka berbeza dari segi saiz, bentuk dan ekologi[3]

Spesies

Nama Geophaps merupakan kombinasi perkataan dari Greek geō bermakna "tanah" dan phaps, bermakna "merpati".[4]
