Gametogenesis

Skema yang menunjukan analogi proses pendewasaan sel telur dan perkembangan spermatid. Oosit dan spermatosit keduanya merupakan gametosit. Ova dan spermatid adalah gamet yang lengkap.

Gametogenesis adalah biologi proses yang terhasil atau haploid pelopor sel-sel menjalani sel dan perbezaan untuk membentuk matang haploid gamet. Bergantung pada kehidupan biologi kitaran yang organisma, gametogenesis berlaku dengan meiosis bahagian terhasil gametocytes ke dalam pelbagai gamet, atau oleh mitosis. Sebagai contoh, tumbuh-tumbuhan menghasilkan gamet melalui mitosis di gametophytes. Itu gametophytes berkembang dari haploid spora selepas sporic meiosis.
