Fasa S
Fasa S (fasa sintesis) ialah bahagian kitaran sel di mana DNA direplikasi, yang berlaku antara fasa G1 dan G2. Replikasi DNA yang tepat adalah perlu untuk mencegah keabnormalan genetik yang sering membawa kepada kematian sel atau penyakit. Oleh kerana kepentingannya, laluan pengawalseliaan yang mengawal kejadian ini dalam eukariota sangat konservatif. Pemuliharaan ini menjadikan kajian fasa S-dalam organisma model seperti embrio Xenopus laevis dan ragi lebah yang berkaitan dengan organisma yang lebih tinggi.[1][2][3]
