Document Object Model

Document Object Model (DOM, bahasa Melayu: "model objek dokumen") ialah syor daripada W3C yang menghuraikan sebuah antara muka yang bebas daripada mana-mana bahasa pengaturcaraan mahupun pelantar yang digunakan untuk mewakili HTML atau XML serta format-format berkaitan.

Sejarah

DOM mula dibangunkan oleh W3C ketika pertengahan tahun 1990-an. Pun W3C tidak pernah menghasilkan spesifikasi untuk DOM 0, namun ia merupakan model yang telah didokumentasikan separuh dan telah disertakan sekali dengan spesifikasi HTML 4. Spesifikasi pertama DOM (DOM 1) telah dikeluarkan pada bulan Oktober 1998 dan pada bulan November 2000, DOM 2 pula dihasilkan; dengan pengkhususan pada model objek helaian gaya (style sheet) dan pengolahan maklumat gaya.
