Dimotiki

Dimotiki (Yunani: δημοτική [γλώσσα] IPA: [ðimotiˈci], "bahasa rakyat") atau demotik ialah bentuk vernakular moden bahasa Greek. Istilah ini telah digunakan sejak 1818.[1] Dimotiki merujuk kepada bentuk bahasa yang berkembang secara alami dari Greek purba, yang bertentangan dengan Katharevousa buatan kuno, yang merupakan piawai rasmi sehingga tahun 1976. Kedua-duanya saling melengkapi dalam contoh biasa diglosia sampai penyelesaian persoalan bahasa Greek yang menyokong Dimotiki.
