Byte Bandit

Byte Bandit merupakan virus komputer dicipta bagi Commodore Amiga. Ia muncul pada Januari 1988. Ia merupakan virus sektor but. Ia dicipta oleh virus SCA.

Ia merupakan salah satu virus Amiga yang paling ditakuti sehinggalah virus Lamer Exterminator kerana bukan sahaja ia merebak dari sistem ke sistem secara automatik, tetapi amat menjahanamkan.

Byte Bandit tidak cuba menyamar dirinya sebagaimana virus, trojan dan cecacing moden. Sungguhpun ia menulis semula blok but, ia turut mengaik kedalam sistem, kekal tetap-reset dan menyebabkan kerosakan data dan kegagalan sistem. Virus mengekalkan pembilang salinan setiap kali ia menyalin dirinya kepada cakera, yang di dalam ayat teks "Virus by Byte Bandit in 9.87. Number of copys:" yang turut memberikan tarikh September 1987 sebagai tarik ciptaan, termasuk juga nama gelaran pengaturcara.
