Belone ialah sebuah genus todak sebenar yang umum terdapat di perairan payau dan masin. Ia satu daripada sepuluh genus dalam keluarga Belonidae.

Etimologi
Georges Cuvier mendirikan genus ini dengan menggunakan nama spesifik Esox belone kepunyaan Linnaeus dalam bentuk tautonim, belone ialah perkataan Yunani untuk "todak" dan dikatakan pada asalnya merujuk kepada unduk-unduk besar.[3]
