Belfast ialah ibu negeri Ireland Utara. Belfast merupakan bandar terbesar di Ireland Utara dan daerah Ulster serta bandar kedua terbesar di kepulauan Ireland selepas ibu negara Ireland iaitu Dublin.
Asal nama
Nama Belfast (berasal daripada perkataan bahasa Ireland: Béal Feirste yang bermaksud "muara (sungai) Farset"). Ini merujuk kepada beting pasir yang terbentuk apabila Sungai Farset dan Sungai Lagan, (yang kini dikenali sebagai Donegall Quay) yang mengalir ke Tasik Belfast.
Kawasan
