Basalt (diucapkan //, // atau //)[1] biasa terobosan menumpukan (gunung berapi) rock terbentuk dari pesat pendinginan basal lava terdedah di atau sangat dekat dengan permukaan planet atau bulan. Banjir basalt menerangkan pembentukan dalam siri lava basalt mengalir.

Kegunaan

Basalt digunakan dalam pembinaan (contohnya seperti blok bangunan atau di asas), membuat batuan kecil (dari kolumnar basalt) dan dalam membuat patung-patung. Pemanas dan extruding basalt hasil bulu batu, kata untuk menjadi yang sangat baik haba sama.
