Amilosa
Amilosa ialah satu polimer yang tidak bercabang-cabang dan mempunyai satu jenis ikatan glikosida sahaja, iaitu ikatan glikosida α-1:4. Satu rantai amilosa mempunyai kira-kira 300 unit glukosa.
Amilosa wujud dalam gegelung heliks dan mempunya satu hujung penurun.
Amilosa larut dalam air membentuk misel berhidrat. Amilosa menghasilkan warna biru apabila dicampuran dengan iodin, tetapi warna biru hilang apabila campuran ini dipanaskan, atau dicampur alkali.
