Alga (Jawi: الڬا; daripada bahasa Latin maksudnya "rumpai laut"[1]) ialah kumpulan besar dan pelbagai organisma eukariot ringkas, biasanya autotrofik, pelbagai daripada bentuk unisel hingga multisel seperti kelpa gergasi yang membesar sehingga 65 meter panjang.
Alga dapat berfotosintesis seperti tumbuhan, dan "ringkas" kerana tisunya tidak tersusun kepada banyak organ tersendiri serupa akar atau daun yang dijumpai dalam tumbuhan tanah. Rumpai laut adalah bentuk alga lautan paling kompleks dan terbesar.
