  • Leotychides, raja bersama Sparta, dan Themistocles, ketua Athens, mengetuai sebuah armada dan tentera darat untuk menduduki semula Yunani utara serta untuk menghukum keluarga bangsawan Aleuad kerana membantu tentera Parsi. Leotychides kedapatan menerima rasuah semasa operasi di Thessaly.
  • Negara-negara samudera Yunani di sekeliling Laut Aegea tidak lagi hendak dikuasai oleh Sparta dan di Delos, memberi kesetiaan kepada Athens melalui Aristides. Mereka membentuk Liga Delos (juga dikenali sebagai Negeri-negeri Gabungan Delos), dengan Kimon sebagai ketua komander mereka.
